Welcome to School of Medical Sciences(SMS)

SMS, at present, offers Diploma in Pharmacy & PCL Level in Health Lab(Lab Technician) as per the syllabus offered by CTEVT and has the aim of extending other academic programs in the related sectors in years to come.
Diploma in Pharmacy (3 Years Program) and PCL Level in Health Lab Technician (3 Years Program) evaluation, CTEVT has granted the right to the college to make the internal assessment of students with 20% weightage, where as the CTEVT itself conducts examination for the remaining 80%.

Our Mission

School of Medical Sciences(SMS) has been established to cater the needs of those young talents who want to go for the specialization in Pharmacy & Lab related disciplines from the beginning of higher education.
SMS is duly affiliated to the Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training(CTEVT), Sano Thimi, Bhaktapur and has entered into health oriented education from the year 2004 A.D. with its 3-year "Diploma in Pharmacy" program & PCL Level in Health Lab(Lab Technician) program from 2008 A.D. :

To make the students full aware of the fundamental principles of Pharmaceutical environment through the applied demonstration as well as theoretical orientation.
To convert the raw minds (just S.L.C. passed) into dynamic professionals as diploma level pharmacy assistant in order to make them able to render dispensary and other health related service to the general public in the hospital as well as in community settings.
To prepare a supportive technical human resource for Pharmaceutical industry, laboratories and capable manpower for quality control and drug control and rational use of drugs.
To develop leadership quality in pharmacy professionals pharmacy making hem efficient to manage rational supply of pharmaceuticals and to promote rational use of drugs within the health care service and private sector.
To make the students perform routine and special laboratory investigations on clinical and non clinical sample independently.
To develop dynamic laboratory professional to set up primary health center and district level medical laboratory clinic.
